HP ExDS9100 - “Extreme” Data Storage System for Web 2.0

HP presented a well-scalable system, data storage system, which has received designation model StorageWorks 9100 Extreme Data Storage System (ExDS9100) and is targeted at business users who need to handle large volumes of data used online or for more conventional storage media.

According to the company, ExDS9100 can reach capacity in several petabytes (PB) and in doing so remain affordable solution. Web 2.0 Services make use of digital media, such as pictures, video streaming,
video on demand and large amounts of textual information in social networks. All this requires the cost of data storage and HP is ready to offer for this purpose its novelty - ExDS9100.

As the manufacturer said, no one NAS-system (network-attached storage), presented today at the market, does not provide such simplicity management with the scalability solutions such as ExDS9100.

HP ExDS9100 appears in sales in the fourth quarter of 2008.
