DRAM сontract prices continue to rise
Late last month for producers of DRAM-memory occurred good times – the market has such a situation that enabled them to begin to raise contract prices for their products.
In the first half of May contract price increases was already 10%, according to sources in Taiwan. This upward trend in prices indicates that the industry is recovering after a protracted crisis overproduction (and, consequently, low prices, which borders the cost chips).
At the present time cost of 1Gbit DDR2 memory chip is $2
Nevertheless, this is so far only trend, stocks of computer manufacturers will not disappeared and still quite densely filled. This fact will continue to limit manufacturers in their efforts to manufacture memory chips until the end of the second quarter.
